National Seminar Held Successfully

A National Seminar on 'Quality Assurance in Higher Education' was successfully organised by Govt. T.Romana College on 22.5.2015 at I&PR Conference Hall, Aizawl. The Seminar was sponsored by UGC and jointly organised by the Department of Education, Govt. T.Romana College and Mizoram Educational Foundation (MEF). The Inaugural Function was chaired by Dr Lalrintluanga, Pricipal, Govt. T.Romana College and inaugurated by Pu R.Lalrosanga, Director, H&TE, Govt. of Mizoram. Keynote Address was given by Prof. G.C.Nanda, HOD, Department of Education, Ravenshaw University, Cuttack, Odisha.
Academicians and students from various colleges in Mizoram attended the programme which was held in two technical sessions. Fourteen papers were presented and the Resource persons include professors from colleges in Aizawl and Mizoram University as well as research scholars.
Govt. T. Romana College Accredited ‘B’ Grade

Govt. T. Romana College was accredited with ‘B’ Grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) on 10.12.2014. The College was visited by the NAAC Peer Team during 23rd - 25th September, 2014 for re-accreditation. The Peer Team consisted of Dr. Sudhamahi Regunathan, Chairperson, New Delhi; Prof. Swarna Latha Das, Member coordinator, Gauhati University, Assam, and Dr. Sukriti Ghosal, Member, Burdwan, West Bengal.
The College authority and the Steering Committee sincerely thanked all the faculty members and students as well as alumni, parents and other students’ bodies of the College for their support and efforts during the Peer Team Visit..
Earlier, the NAAC Peer Team visited the College for the first cycle of accreditation during January, 2007 and was accredited with C++ by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).
170 GTRC Students Donated Their Blood

As part of its regular activities, the NSS Unit, Govt. T.Romana College and Red Ribbon Club organised a voluntary blood donation camp in the College on 16th October, 2014. This is the second time the NSS Unit of the College organised such camp in 2014. Blood Bank staff from Civil Hospital, Aizawl came in the College campus and collected the donated blood. One hundred and seventy (170) units of blood from 119 male students and 51 female students were donated for Civil Hospital, Aizawl.
NAAC Team Visits Govt. T.Romana College

The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) Peer Team visited Govt. T.Romana College for re-accreditation during 23rd - 25th September, 2014. The Peer Team consisted of (1) Dr. Sudhamahi Regunathan, Chairperson, New Delhi, (2) Dr. Swarna Latha Das, member coordinator, Gauhati, Assam, and (3) Dr. Sukriti Ghosal, member, Burdwan, West Bengal. On 22nd September, the Peer Team interacted with faculty members of the eight Departments of the College and meetings were held with the Students Union, the Non-Teaching Staff and NSS Programme Officers of the College. The Team also visited the College Library and the various UGC Programmes run by the College such as - Computer Learning Centre, Centre for Learning Mobile Repairing, Network Resource Centre etc. An entertaining Cultural Programme was organised at 6:00 PM at Aizawl Club.
On 23rd September, meetings were held with Alumni and Parents body of the Institution, NCC Cadets, History Club, Kings Adventure Club etc. The Peer Team visit was closed with Exit Meeting held at 9:00 AM on 25th September.
Laldingliana 2nd Semester is the National Champion in Arm Wrestling
On June 1, 2023, Govt. T. Romana organised a function in the college in celebration of the achievement of Laldingliana, 2nd Semester student of English Dept. in the National Arm Wrestling Championship 2023 held at Kashmir Stadium, Srinagar. Mizoram Armed Wrestling team had landed at Lengpui Airport on June 1, 2023. Dinga was part of the Mizoram team who bagged 26 medals.
Two Day Entrepreneurship Awareness Programme
A two day entrepreneurship awareness programme was held on 14th and 15th February 2023 at Rusa Hall. This programme was sponsored by HRD, KVIC, Mizoram in collaboration with the Entrepreneurship Knowledge Cell, GTRC to impart awareness to the students about the different trainings available under HRD, KVIC, Mizoram and the importance of entrepreneurship in the present day context. The first session was chaired by Dr. Lalchhuanmawia, Chaiman E.K Cell, GTRC and the Resource person was Mr. C. Lalramchhana, Owner of TakeAway Corner, Aizawl.
Workshop on New Education Policy
Govt. T. Romana College, Internal Quality Assessment Cell organized ‘Workshop on NEP’ on November 14, 2022 at RUSA Hall. Dr. Jenifer Lalbiakdiki Principal and Chairman of IQAC gave opening remarks on the objectives and framework of NEP which is in the process to be implemented from the next academic session.
Chief Minister Inaugurates Approach Road to Govt T. Romana College
The Hon’ble Chief Minister of Mizoram, Pu Zoramthanga inaugurated the newly constructed approach road to Govt. T.Romana College via ITI locality on the 10th February 2023. The road is 485 metres long and financed through the SEDP amounting to Rs. 464.9 lakhs. The construction of the road commenced on 16th January 2021.

Govt. T. Romana College Observed World Environment Day 2023 by watering the trees and plants in the campus and adding manure whereever required.
