The Hon’ble Chief Minister of Mizoram, Pu Zoramthanga inaugurated the newly constructed approach road to Govt. T.Romana College via ITI locality on the 10th February 2023. The road is 485 metres long and financed through the SEDP amounting to Rs. 464.9 lakhs. The construction of the road commenced on 16th January 2021.  

The Chief Minister expressed his appreciation to the officials of state PWD, officials of the College and to those who donated their valuable lands free of cost, without any demands for compensation, for the construction of the road. He said that it brought him great pleasure that the road is now accessible for the students, the community and for all those who might require it. He also acknowledged the tremendous effort made into making this exceptional road considering its terrain and landscape. The Chief Minister commended the faculty of GTRC for their invaluable contributions in enriching the infrastructure of the college through their own pockets, like the extension of the RUSA building and so on. He pointed out that such sense of ownership and belonging of the institution is not only admirable but also worthy of emulating.

The Principal, Dr. Jenifer Lalbiakdiki in her speech, expressed her sincere gratitude to the Chief Minister for sharing his wise proposition which has led to the fruition of the newly inaugurated road. She also conveyed her heartfelt gratitude to the state PWD for their prompt and enthusiastic initiatives. She also thanked the leaders of the Republic Veng and Republic Vengthlang localities for their support and enthusiasm. She also expressed her appreciation to all those who donated their land, without which the making of this road would not have been possible. Of the land donors, a special mention was made to Dr. Lalrintluanga, former principal of GTRC who played a key role in the construction of this road.
