
The ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’ agenda is a comprehensive vision plan by the Government of India, aiming to transform India into a developed nation by the year 2047, marking the 100th anniversary of its independence.
The vision encompasses various aspects of development, including economic growth, social progress, environmental sustainability, and good governance. As India stands at this crucial juncture, poised to take off on its growth trajectory, it is important to realise that tremendous dedication and belief in India's destiny, immense desire, potential, talent and capabilities of the Indians, especially the youth, coupled with steadfast leadership, is necessary to realise this potential. There is enormous work that needs to be undertaken in a mission mode to make India Viksit Bharat by 2047. For this to happen, there is a need to chalk out a bold, ambitious and transformative agenda, and its communication to all stakeholders. The role of the youth, who constitute our largest population group, has a huge role here as they will lead India to Viksit Bharat by 2047.
Therefore, it is important to channelise the innovative ideas of the youth into nation- building by inviting them to ideate and contribute to the vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047. It is Important that every youth, more so the youth in colleges/ institutes and Universities take part in this important nation building exercise.

Mizoram Political Science Association (MIPSA) Annual Conference and National Seminar had been held at Govt. T. Romana College on November 1 & 2, 2023. The event was jointly organised by MIPSA and Dept. of Political Science, Govt. T. Romana College. In the inaugural session Dr. C. Lalhmanmawia, President MIPSA chaired the session and Dr. Jenifer Lalbiakdiki, Principal GTRC made a welcome speech for all the participants. Prof. J. Doungel, Dept. of Political Science, MZU delivered a keynote address and Mrs. Ramdinliani, Coordinator gave the vote of thanks. There were four technical sessions in which sixteen research papers had been presented in the seminar from across the country including MZU, IIT, JNU, Jamia, etc.

On 29th September 2023, Govt. T. Romana College organised a "Hands-on Training on the use of Smart Board" for the faculty members. The program was chaired by Mr. R. Lalremliana, Vice Principal, Govt. T. Romana College.
The Principal, Dr. Jenifer Lalbiakdiki informed the faculty members that our College has been very fortunate to have received eight smart boards from the UD & PA, Planning and Implementation Board, Govt. of Mizoram, which have been successfully installed in the core classrooms. She also related that Dr. Benjamin Ralte, Dr. Dorothy Zonunsangi and Mr Lalzawmsanga had attended the Ceremonial function of Dedication for Smart Boards to the Public /Insitutions, on behalf of the college, on 12th September 2023. The training was conducted by Mr. Lalzawmsanga, System Administrator and Computer Instructor.

An International Seminar on Popular Culture and Literature: Emerging Trends was organised by the Department of English, Govt. T.Romana College during 20th – 22nd September 2023 at the college campus. The Seminar was inaugurated by Dr. Jenifer Lalbiakdiki, Principal GTRC, and Dr. Kristina Z Zama, Asst. Professor, Department of English and Culture Studies MZU was the keynote speaker. A record number of 23 academic papers and a Keynote Address on the topic were presented at the Seminar by renowned Scholars from Colleges and Universities in Mizoram, as well as from academics and practitioners from Shillong, Hyderabad, and Lithuania. Apart from the paper presentations, the Seminar also created a platform for creative writers to present their poems at the Open Poetry Reading Session and an interactive Music Session featuring well-known artistes, followed by a live-music session. The Seminar was well attended by students and faculties from colleges as well as from schools within Aizawl. Publication of the proceedings in book form is expected soon.


Vanlalruatfela 4th Semester participated in the 16th Junior National Bodybuilding Championship held in Hyderabad, Telangana, as he secured a National Bronze Medal. 🏅
This achievement marks a historic milestone as it is the first time a Mizo athlete has won a national-level medal in this competition. By ushering in this new chapter for the Mizo community, he has brought us great pride. We extend our heartiest congratulations to him on this significant success.

Govt. T. Romana College, successfully underwent “Energy & Green Audit” on 25 August 2025 to assess the initiative. The college qualified the requirements of Green audit as per A+ Grade. The certificate is valid till August 2028.

A Legal Awareness Programme on Child Friendly Legal Services to Children was successfully conducted on 19th February 2026 (Thursday) at Government T. Romana College. The programme was organised by the Mizoram State Legal Services Authority in collaboration with the Legal Cell, IQAC, and the Department of Sociology of the college.
The primary objective of the programme was to create awareness about child-friendly legal mechanisms, rights of children, and the availability of free legal services. The initiative aimed to educate students and faculty members about the importance of safeguarding children’s rights and ensuring access to justice in a supportive and sensitive manner.
C. Malsawmtluanga of Fourth Semester won the 1st Prize in India's Open Arm Wrestling Competition in Bhogeswari Indoor stadium, Guwahati on the 15th of February, 2026 organised by Clubdowntown.
C. Malsawmtluang had also won the gold medal in the First Inter- College Arm wrestling Competition organised by the college in 2025 .

On February 16, 2026 the Department of Public Administration organised Training of Sustainable Life Skill for students of 6th Semester at the State Institute of Rural Development (SIRD), Mizoram. Three faculty and 43 students participated in the training. This is the third consecutive year for organising such training for students.
It is a tradition in Govt. T.Romana College to observe Valentines Day by creating an awareness on safe sex and promoting celibacy until marriage. The college observed the same on 13th February, 2026 as the 14th of February falls on a Saturday.
