Govt T. Romana College opens admission to 1st Semester for the year 2024 from 22 May to 14 June, 2024. Admission is offered to applicants on First Come First Serve basis. Finishing School 2024 was jointly organised by Student Support, Progression & Placement Cell, IQAC & Entrepreneurship Knowledge Cell, GTRC at the College Campus on April 26, 2024. The programme was orgnaised in three parallel sessions with three different themes. The theme of Sesssion I was ‘Self Reliance’ and it was chaired by Mrs. Ramdinliani. The resource person was Dr. Jenifer Lalbiakdiki, Principal, GTRC and she stressed on the importance of ‘self-reliance’ through confidence and hard work. Session II was chaired by Dr. Lalchhuanmawia, Chairman of E.K. Cell. The resource person Mrs. M.S. Dawngliani, State Mission Manager, UD&PA (NLUM) delivered a lecture on the theme ‘Entrepreneurship’.
Session III was chaired by Mr. R. Lalremliana, Vice Principal & Chairman, SSPPC. The resource person was Maj. John VL Khawlhring, District Sainik Welfare & Resettlement Officer (DSW&RO), Aizawl District. The resource person after delivering career campaigned had an interaction with students who want to join the Indian Armed Forces. The programme has been annually organised as part of the college regular activities to motivate and guide the outgoing students for their future career.
Meet the Author Programme was organized by Department of Mizo, on 24th April, 2024, 12:00 noon at Room no A-4 in the College. Miss K. Vanlalhmangaihi, winner of the prestigious Mizo Academy of Letters (MAL) Book of the Year 2023 was the invited author. Miss K. Vanlalhmangaihi graduated in Mizo from Government T. Romana College in 2018 and she is presently a member of Govt. T. Romana College Alumni. Miss K. Vanlalhmangaihi is the youngest author to win the “Book of the Year” title in Mizoram. Her book which win the title is 'Pangparhnima' which she started writing in 2021 and published in 2023. The programme was hosted by Mr R.D. Lalsanglura, Asst Professor GTRC. The programme was attended by the students of 6th semester, Dept of Mizo and faculties of the College and members of the alumni.
Awareness campaign on POCSO Act 2012 ( The Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences Act 2012) was organised by Women Empowerment Cell, Governtment T. Romana College on 16th April 2024 at Education Department Core Room.The programme was chaired by Dr. Rosy Lalrinsangi, Chairman Women Empowerment Cell, Govt.T.Romana college.The resource person Dr.Lalchhuanmawii, secretary, Women Empowerment Cell/ Internal complaint Cell, Govt.T.Romana College presented paper on POCSO Act 2012. The awareness campaign was attended by students of Public Administration and Education 6th semester.
6th semester students of the department of Public Administration, Govt T.Romana College attended training on Suntainable Life Skill: Rural Development Schemes at the SIRD&PR Auditorium on 4th April, 2025.
Following up of the Memorandum of Understading on Faculty and Students Exchange programme signed between Department of Public Adminstration Govt. T. Romana College and Department of Public Administration Pachhunga University College, a 3rd 'Faculty and Student Exchange Programme' was successfully organised on the 28th March 2025.
The Department of English, Govt. T. Romana College organised ‘Awareness on NEP 2020 for 4th and 6th Semester Parents’ on April 9, 2025. The programme was attended by 42 parents of the 2nd and 4th Semesters NEP students. The primary objective of the programme was to familiarise parents of the NEP students with the key aspects of the National Education Policy 2020, along with the new subject combinations offered under NEP.
The Awareness programme commenced at 1:00 pm. The Chairperson, Dr. Lalrinmawii Tochhawng, Associate Professor, Department of English started the programme with an introduction of the faculty members in the Department of English. She welcomed parents from different corners of Mizoram and further emphasised the importance of understanding the NEP 2020 and its impact on higher education.
Govt. T. Romana College Thingsiri Cultural club put a spectacular perfornance of Mizo Cultural Dance at the Grand Octave 2025 at Jharkand on 25.03.2025.
The Thingsiri cultural club of the college were invited to perform at the National Tribal Youth Festival 2025 organised by the Social welfare Department, Government of Mizoram at Kelsih on 10.4.2025 where their performance was highly appreciated.
On 26th March, 2025 two faculty members Dr. Lalchhuanmawii and Dr. Lalngaihawmi participated in Awareness Programme on Sexual Harassment of Women at Work-place Act 2013 at Dawrpui Multipurpose Centre, Aizawl.
