Training Programme of Sustainable Life: Rural Development Schemes was jointly organised by State Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Mizoram & Department of Public Administration, Govt. T. Romana College on the 22nd March 2024 at SIRD & PR Auditorium, Durtlang. The resource persons were Dr. K.T. Pakuangte and Dr. Margaret Lalbiakthangi who presented papers on the different Rural Development Programmes and Poverty Alleviation Programmes. The programme was attended by students of 6th Semester, Department of Public Administration and faculties of the department.
On March 18 & 19, March 2024 AdmissionIndia organised career awareness campaign at the college campus of Govt. T. Romana College. AdmissionIndia team was led by Vanlalruata Ralte, Operations Head and Lalngaihawmi Sailo, Head-Counselling & Student Experience. First the team made a visit to the 6th Semester Classes and introduced the objectives of their organization and then set-up kiosk in the campus for two days. AdmissionIndia is an educational consultancy firm and their main objective is to guide the student who wants to pursue higher studies in India and aboard. They can also provide service for students seeking scholarship, work permit, IELTS and others to study aboard. The two day programmed had been organised in collaboration with Student Support Progression & Placement Cell, IQAC, GTRC.
YRGCARE Career Seminar
On March 18, 2024, YRGCARE also organised seminar at Govt. T. Romana College with regards to career campaign on the theme, ‘Experience America: Buliding bridges of Opportunity’. This seminar was organised in collaboration with Student Support Progression & Placement Cell, IQAC, GTRC. YRG Care team was led by Judy Zonunsangi, Outreach Officer. The objective of the programme was ‘a sensitization workshop on higher education in the US with colleges of the Northeast’. This project is initiated under the guidance and support of the US State Department and the resource person Ms. Judy highlighted to the participants that they can guide the students who want to pursue higher studies in different institutions in the U.S.
The first ever NCC Award for Best Institution in the state(Mizoram) under the North East Region Directorate was recieved by our College on the 16.03.2024 at the Army Cantonment Narengi, Guwahati. The Award was recieved by the principal, Dr. Jenifer Lalbiakdiki who was accompanied by two cadets, Lalvenhimi and Laltlanzova.
Govt. T. Romana College also won two medals in the MIZORAM UNIVERSITY SPORTS 2024 for Women's Volley ball ( bronze) and Athletics(Bronze). The College also won two trophies in the State level Mizo Students Union Sport. The football team(mens) won the 2nd position and the Volleyball team ( men ) also won the 2nd position. The sport persons were felicitated by the College.
The College organised a North East Cultural Fest and a National Colloquium on Culture, Music, Literature and Gen -Z on the 29.2.2024 and 1.03.2024 in collaboration with the Mizoram Youth Commission. Mr. Malsawmzuala Ralte, the Chairman of the MYC was the Chief Guest of the event in which colourful cultural dances were performed by students of Govt. T. Romana College, Aizawl, Govt Aizawl College, Janata College , Assam and St. Anthony's College Shillong, Meghalaya. The Principal Dr.Jenifer Lalbiakdiki gave the welcome address, the Vice Principal Mr. R.Lalremliana felicitated the guests and Dr.S.Lalnunpuia, organising chairman rendered the vote of thanks. Some of the resource persons were Dr. Budshaphrang Lyngdoh of St. Anthonys College, Mr. Mark.V. Vanlalrema of Government Aizawl College and Dr. Rinmawii Tochhawng. A pre - celebration of Chapchar Kût was organised with the traditional 'Chhawng Hnawh' ie. stuffing of each others mouth with eggs.
6th semester students of the department of Public Administration, Govt T.Romana College attended training on Suntainable Life Skill: Rural Development Schemes at the SIRD&PR Auditorium on 4th April, 2025.
Following up of the Memorandum of Understading on Faculty and Students Exchange programme signed between Department of Public Adminstration Govt. T. Romana College and Department of Public Administration Pachhunga University College, a 3rd 'Faculty and Student Exchange Programme' was successfully organised on the 28th March 2025.
The Department of English, Govt. T. Romana College organised ‘Awareness on NEP 2020 for 4th and 6th Semester Parents’ on April 9, 2025. The programme was attended by 42 parents of the 2nd and 4th Semesters NEP students. The primary objective of the programme was to familiarise parents of the NEP students with the key aspects of the National Education Policy 2020, along with the new subject combinations offered under NEP.
The Awareness programme commenced at 1:00 pm. The Chairperson, Dr. Lalrinmawii Tochhawng, Associate Professor, Department of English started the programme with an introduction of the faculty members in the Department of English. She welcomed parents from different corners of Mizoram and further emphasised the importance of understanding the NEP 2020 and its impact on higher education.
Govt. T. Romana College Thingsiri Cultural club put a spectacular perfornance of Mizo Cultural Dance at the Grand Octave 2025 at Jharkand on 25.03.2025.
The Thingsiri cultural club of the college were invited to perform at the National Tribal Youth Festival 2025 organised by the Social welfare Department, Government of Mizoram at Kelsih on 10.4.2025 where their performance was highly appreciated.
On 26th March, 2025 two faculty members Dr. Lalchhuanmawii and Dr. Lalngaihawmi participated in Awareness Programme on Sexual Harassment of Women at Work-place Act 2013 at Dawrpui Multipurpose Centre, Aizawl.
